Using the principles of behavioral psychology, in this class we will explore how we teach our non-human friends tricks, how this works differently for them versus humans, and give you some tips on how to impress your friends with your pets’ mad skills!

It’s Just Rocket Science!

Everyone knows that rockets are really cool, but how do they actually work?! In this class we’ll explore a brief timeline of rocketry, how rockets blast off into space, and what different parts of the rocket do. Then we’ll do an activity to investigate how changing parts of the rocket affects its ability to fly.

Starting With Why: Storytelling to Persuade and Inspire

What are the causes and organizations that you care about? Are you confident in your ability to enlist new supporters and energize your community? Whatever your passion, the best way to bring others on board is through storytelling that can engage both the heart and the head. In this class, we learn about the power of a compelling story to cultivate empathy and create connections. Participants learn how to craft their values and experiences into stories that persuade and inspire.

Basics of American Sign Language

This course includes the learning of introductory phrases, signs for various animals, emergency signs for emergency situations, numbers, and more. American Sign Language is a visual language and a great skill for any learner. This is a fun learning space and all children are welcome!

How to Stay Productive During a Time of Uncertainty

Let’s lean into what we can control and learn ways to schedule our days to consist of breaks, school work, more breaks, times to move, creative times, and more. Uncertainty is hard, let us work through this together. This course is for Middle School and High School aged students.

Women and Political Movements in America

Students will learn and discuss the ventures of women of color during different political movements.

In the first class, students will learn about women of color who lead the women’s suffrage movement in the US. We will read some of their writing and discuss their lives. The next class we’ll talk about women in the climate change and environmental justice movements and their writing, social media presences, and speeches. The final two classes, students will vote on what movements they want to talk about and curriculum will be shaped around their responses.

*Please register for both Tuesday and Friday classes (April 14, 17, 21, and 24). These are the dates for the same section of the course. Each section meets 4 times. The course has 4 sessions over the span of 2 weeks.

Born to Lead and to Mess Up

This is a 2 part course dedicated to leadership, communication, and how to get involved to build confidence and leadership opportunities.

First-class: Students will hear Rayna’s leadership journey from her teenage years all the way up to starting her own business at 28 years old. Students will learn the significance of learning your own personal and family story. Students will walk out with the tools to find mentors, enhance networking and carrying on conversations.

Homework: Students will be asked to interview family members and share in the following class.

Class two: Students share their stories and learn how to identify their skills and gifts. Teens will be challenged on how to apply those gifts to the causes they care about.

Homework: Students will walk away with a worksheet they can use throughout their leadership journey for getting involved and chasing their passions.

Who is Rayna Rose? I have personally mentored over 100 high school students professionally and have spoken to over 100,000 people in the last decade. I support leaders who want to increase their confidence through social impact and conversation. I am passionate about people leveraging their skills and talents to make a difference in the world therein empowering themselves.

My goal for the students is to learn their family and personal stories and how to share them to motivate themselves. The students will be challenged to think about their dreams and gain empathy for others. In addition to my education and career background, I am fun and very animated and passionate when I speak.
